Azynote talks to CoCo CLI over ACP (Agent Client Protocol). CoCo starts once and stays running, so after the first request it answers without waking up again. It powers the chat panel, your OnePagers and the Command Panel, with Azynote's workspace tools at hand.
Your meeting transcription doesn't change: it still runs on your Mac.
Before you start#
You need the CoCo CLI installed and connected to Snowflake. Check it from your terminal:
cortex --version
If that prints a version, you're ready. If not, install CoCo CLI and set up your Snowflake connection first.
Set up CoCo in Azynote#
-
Open Settings > AI engines, then ACP under Providers.
-
In Command, type:
cortex acp serveTo use a specific Snowflake connection, add
-cand its name, for examplecortex acp serve -c my_connection. -
Check the Agent row. It shows Found on PATH: cortex when Azynote can start it.
If it says Not found, ask your terminal where CoCo lives:
which cortex
Then use that full path in place of cortex, for example /opt/homebrew/bin/cortex acp serve. Apps opened from the Dock don't see every folder your terminal does, so the full path is the sure way.
You can also pick ACP during First Launch and type the same command there.
Choose what CoCo handles#
At the top of Settings > AI engines, set Route everything to to ACP. Chat, OnePagers, the Command Panel, session titles, subject status and the workspace profile then go to CoCo.
Two rows stay elsewhere, because ACP doesn't carry them:
- Embedding, which powers search, runs on your Mac.
- Image is off. Pick Gemini or OpenAI on that row if you want image generation.
You can also leave the preset alone and set ACP on just the rows you want, such as Chat.
When CoCo asks permission#
CoCo may ask before it uses a tool, such as running a command. You answer Allow or Deny in the chat. Tick Don't ask again to keep your answer for this workspace. See When an ACP agent asks permission.
What leaves your Mac#
What you ask, and the notes and transcripts CoCo needs to answer, go to CoCo and on to Snowflake under your own connection. Azynote never reads or stores your CoCo credentials. Audio never leaves your Mac.
If something goes wrong#
- Not found: use the full path from
which cortex, as above. - Found, but no answer in the chat: run
cortexin your terminal. If it asks you to sign in or pick a connection, sort that out there, then try again in Azynote. - Wrong Snowflake account: add
-cand the connection you want to the command.
